Ten great beach and golf destinations

Mauna Kea, Hawaii: The resort combines one of the best beaches in the world with a course that has spectacular views of the ocean and snow-capped Mauna Kea. The beaches are pristine and the water is sparkling.

Port Douglas, Australia: The Sheraton Mirage, a five-star luxury resort, is situated between the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree rain forest. In addition to beach, the resort features salt water lagoons and championship golf.

Larvotto Beach, Monaco: A hot spot for celebrity watching, Monaco earns its reputation as the playground of the rich and famous. Soak it all in at the chic Hotel de Paris and the Monte-Carlo Golf Club.

Hilton Head, South Carolina: Few places combine beautiful beaches, great golf and Southern charm quite like The Sea Pines Resort. When not playing the Harbour Town Golf Links, Sea Pines visitors can try a host of sports or just relax on the Atlantic.

Paradise Island, Bahamas: Miles of beach and blue Caribbean waters await visitors to the One&Only Ocean Club. Play the spectacular Tom Weiskopf designed seaside course, unwind in the resort spa or simply refresh amidst the island’s tropical breezes.

Kiawah Island, South Carolina: Loaded with approximately ten miles of quiet beaches and thousands of acres of natural woodlands, this area off the South Carolina coast is not only an outdoorsman’s paradise, but also a haven for golf. The resort’s five world-class courses regularly host PGA Tour events and the Ryder Cup.

Kapalua Beach, Hawaii: The Kapalua Resort, which includes the Ritz Carlton, the Villas and the Kapalua Bay Hotel, offers luxurious accommodations and three championship courses as well as some of the most desirable waterfront in the world. Its white sand beaches are perfect for swimming, snorkeling or sunbathing.

Nantucket, Massachusetts: Enjoy the quiet New England coast where Boston brahmins have vacationed for centuries, and the venerable Wauwinet Inn has long stood guard along the coast.
